Market share of brands:
In terms of brand market share this month, Toyota/Lexus continued to lead with 38.2%, followed by Honda in second place with 7.1%, Mercedes-Benz in third with 5.4%, Hyundai in fourth with 4.9%, CMC in fifth with 4.8%, BMW in sixth with 4.1%, Mazda in seventh with 4.0%, Volkswagen in eighth with 3.1%, and Ford in ninth with 2.8%. The growth and decline among major brands varied this month, but none of the declines were particularly severe.
Comparison between domestic cars and imported cars (excluding heavy duty trucks):
The sales ratio between domestic and imported vehicles this month was 50.3% versus 49.7%. Imported passenger car sales declined by 5.8% compared with the same month last year but grew significantly by 18% compared with last month. The key reason is that new model-year imported cars have begun arriving and delivering, while existing or previous model-year imported cars also continued to sell through inventory. Among them, Toyota showed the most significant growth at 45.6%. Even though the RAV4 is at the end of its product cycle, it still achieved a strong 2,415 registrations, marking a 61.9% increase over last month.
Outstanding models:
There were six models that exceeded 1,000 units in sales this month: Corolla Cross with 4,034 units, RAV4 with 2,415 units, Yaris Cross with 1,329 units, HR-V with 1,206 units, J Space with 1,149 units, and NX with 1,089 units. In the light commercial vehicle matchup, J Space once again outperformed Town Ace, and the gap widened to 255 units — with J Space registering 1,149 units compared with Town Ace’s 894 units. It appears that the 0-star safety rating announced by TNCAP has already influenced consumers’ purchasing decisions.
BEVs market:
A total of 1,966 pure electric vehicles were delivered this month, representing a significant 50.65% increase compared with last month. The main reason was that Tesla had a shipment arrive this month, leading to large deliveries of the Model 3, which achieved 462 registrations — accounting for nearly 23.5% of the pure EV market. Other pure EV registration results include: n⁷ with 254 units, bZ4X with 207 units, iX1 with 134 units, iX with 107 units, EX30 with 73 units, iX2 with 71 units, ID. Buzz with 62 units, Macan Electric with 55 units, and Model X with 52 units. This month’s EV market also revealed that the recently updated Toyota bZ4X, after its price reduction, delivered a remarkable 935% year-on-year growth and an impressive 546.9% increase compared with last month — demonstrating considerable competitiveness. Additionally, during this year’s Hon Hai Tech Day, the Model B officially debuted under the name Foxtron Bria. Once it enters the market, as long as pricing is reasonable, it is expected to perform strongly in sales and is definitely worth continued attention.
