"Weekly car news " is a recap of some of the major stories in Taiwan car market last week.

3rd March 2025

●The February new car sales figures have been released, showing a total market volume of 27,515 units. While this represents a 21.5% decline compared to the previous month, it marks a 4.8% increase from February last year.

●Honda Taiwan announced that the 11th-generation facelifted Honda Civic e:HEV will be launched in Q2 this year. The company also set an annual sales target of 27,000 units for 2025.

●Mazda Taiwan announced that all 35 units of the Mazda MX-5 35th Anniversary Edition have been completely sold out.

●PG Union announced that the Peugeot 208 Hybrid and 408 Hybrid have received over 900 orders within three weeks of their launch, setting a new sales record for the Peugeot brand in Taiwan.

●Hotai Motor officially launched the 2025 Toyota bZ4X, with a starting price of NT$1.36 million.

●Ford Lio Ho introduced the 2025 Ford Tourneo Connect, available in Trend (starting at NT$1.198 million) and Active (starting at NT$1.298 million) trims.

●Nanyang Industries launched the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5, available in EV450 (starting at NT$1.599 million) and EV650 (starting at NT$1.879 million). The EV650 can be upgraded with a Premium Luxury Package for an additional NT$120,000.

●Nanyang Industries also introduced the 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 6, available in EV400 (starting at NT$1.599 million) and EV600 (starting at NT$1.829 million).

●Pan German Motors Group's Taipei PGM has opened a brand-new "BMW Brand Experience Store" at NOKE Zhongtai Lifestyle in Taipei City.

●China Motor Corporation (CMC) reported that the CMC J Space has received over 7,700 orders since its launch. Among these, 90% of buyers opted for an automatic transmission, and 70% chose models equipped with Level 2 ADAS.

●CarPlus’s Go Smart car-sharing service, a subsidiary of Carplus Auto Leasing, announced the introduction of the Volvo XC40 Recharge electric vehicle into its fleet. The company has also activated plug-and-charge services at nearly 150 locations nationwide.

●The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), together with nearly 60 representatives from industry, government, and research sectors, held the general assembly of the Taiwan Electric Vehicle Energy Supply Industry Technology Promotion Alliance. The alliance announced several industry agreements, including promoting smart charging classification, improving swappable light-power battery standards, developing international charging technology standards and testing capabilities, and aligning with global standards to enhance Taiwan’s competitiveness in the global green mobility market.

●Audi Taiwan announced that the Audi Q6 e-tron will make appearances on the streets of Taipei from 8th March to 9th March, in Kaohsiung from 5th March to 16th March, and finally in Taichung from 22nd March to 23rd March.

●Mercedes-Benz Taiwan officially launched the 2025 Mercedes-Benz C-Class lineup with the following models and prices: C 180 (starting from NT$2.24 million), C 200 (starting from NT$2.6 million), C 300 (starting from NT$3.04 million), Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC (starting from NT$3.89 million), Mercedes-AMG C 63 S E PERFORMANCE (starting from NT$6.07 million, C 200 Estate (starting from NT$2.65 million),C 300 Estate (starting from NT$3.09 million), and Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Estate (starting from NT$4.03 million).

●Mercedes-Benz Taiwan also launched the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC lineup with the following models and prices: GLC 200 4MATIC (starting from NT$2.73 million), GLC 300 4MATIC (starting from NT$3.18 million), Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC (starting from NT$4.01 million), GLC 200 4MATIC Coupé (starting from NT$2.94 million), GLC 300 4MATIC Coupé (starting from NT$3.35 million), Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé (starting from NT$4.13 million), and Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE Coupé (starting from NT$6.23 million).

●Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Taiwan officially launched the 2025 VWCV Caddy Maxi lineup: Life (starting from NT$1.418 million), and Style (starting from NT$1.498 million).

●Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Taiwan also introduced the 2025 VWCV Multivan lineup: Life (starting from NT$2.05 million), and Style (starting from NT$2.52 million).

●Škoda Taiwan announced the launch of the "Enyaq Coupé Electric Driving Experience", allowing customers to book a 2-day, unlimited-mileage free test drive through the event website from now until 15th June.

●Porsche Taiwan announced the grand opening of its new concept store, Porsche NOW Xindian Yulon City.

●Bridgestone Taiwan announced that its Taiwan and Vietnam factories have obtained global ISCC PLUS certification.

●Audi Taiwan officially launched the facelifted Audi A3 Sportback, available in the following trims and prices: 30 TFSI Enjoy Edition (starting from NT$1.39 million), 35 TFSI Advanced Edition (starting from NT$1.55 million), and 35 TFSI S line Sport Edition (starting from NT$1.79 million).
