"Weekly car news " is a recap of some of the major stories in Taiwan car market last week.

15th October 2024

●The Japan-Taiwan startup micro EV company Lean Mobility has accumulated funding of 4.6 billion yen (approximately NT$1 billion) and has begun preparations for the production of the urban micro EV Lean3. It also announced a collaboration with Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, to officially launch in 2025.

●Nanyang Industries has officially started pre-sales of the all-new fifth-generation Hyundai Santa Fe, with configurations and prices as follows: GLTH-A (starting at NT$1.73 million), GLTH-B (starting at NT$1.88 million), GLTH-B Premium (starting at NT$1.93 million), GLTH-C (starting at NT$1.98 million), and GLTH-C Premium (starting at NT$2.03 million).

●Mercedes-Benz Taiwan officially launched the Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+, with a suggested price starting at NT$4.85 million.

●Sime Darby Auto Kia officially launched the 2025 Kia Sportage, with configurations and suggested prices as follows: Trendy (starting at NT$1.179 million), Apex (starting at NT$1.279 million), X-line 2WD (starting at NT$1.339 million), and X-line 4WD (starting at NT$1.389 million).

●Ford Lio Ho officially launched the 2025 Ford Focus ST series, with configurations and suggested prices as follows: X 6MT (starting at NT$1.489 million) and X Wagon (starting at NT$1.589 million).

●Taiwan Suzuki announced that its dealer Kaiten Suzuki has expanded with the opening of the Neihu showroom.

17th October 2024

●The Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC) showcased its "Smart EV Autonomous Platooning Technology" at the 2024 Taiwan Innotech Expo.

●XING Mobility announced its first participation in the 2024 Paris Motor Show, presenting a comprehensive immersion-cooled battery solution from EV batteries to mobile charging devices. They also debuted the CTC (Cell-to-Chassis) platform immersion-cooled battery sample.

18th October 2024

●Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Taiwan officially launched the Volkswagen ID. Buzz Pro S, with configurations and suggested prices as follows: single-color model (starting at NT$2.398 million) and a limited edition dual-color model (starting at NT$2.486 million).

●Pan German Motors officially launched the all-new eighth-generation BMW 530i M Sport, with a suggested price starting at NT$3.39 million.

●Pan German Motors officially unveiled the all-new facelifted Mini Cooper 5-door hatchback, with configurations and suggested prices as follows: Mini Cooper C (starting at NT$1.58 million) and Mini Cooper S (starting at NT$1.86 million).

●Porsche Taiwan announced that the facelifted Porsche 911 GT3 has a suggested price starting at NT$10.96 million.
