Among the four prevailing trends in future auto technology, CASE, "C" (connectivity) is the foundation of all new-generation technologies. While IoT is evolving into AIoT, the application of IoT/V2X is expanding to cover a wide variety of practical purposes. In the afternoon of October 19, the Auto Future editorial team visited 3drens, a V2X software programming startup located at the NTU (National Taiwan University) Innovation and Incubation Center, and interviewed CEO Mr. Yu for a chat about future uses of V2X.
Mr. Yu, the CEO of 3drens (Right) had an interview with Jeff Lee (Middle) and Seven Tseng (Left), editors of Auto Future.
Since its establishment in 2017, 3drens has been dedicated to the development of V2X mobile location data platforms. With software design as the core competitive edge, 3drens has been working with customers, including the logistics industry, the car rental industry, and shared vehicles fleets, on customer-centric projects that fully demonstrate the technical advantages of AIoT in fleet management, task assignment, driving behavior rating, and route optimization to improve the operational efficiency and overall profitability of fleets. For example, e-commerce company PCHome, automaker Hotai Motor's Yoxi service, and even logistics operators and shared buses fleets in countries as far away as in Southeast Asia are already customers of 3drens. For each project, 3drens helps the customer identify operational pain points and proposes solutions within a few months. Bellum se ipsum alit (the war feeds itself). As a startup, 3drens capitalizes on such collaborative projects in various industries, from projects to products, and gradually develops different task-oriented modules. The company has successfully built a sizable connected platform.
Having accumulated experiences in the field for five years, Mr. Yu now expects 3drens to grow into a branded software company. 3drens is making continued efforts to bolster the platform's service content and functions as well as connect people, vehicles, goods, logistics, and cash flows seamlessly for big data processing while using LBS (location-based services) and AI to construct a complete V2X ecosystem. In this way, the redundant resources in the ecosystem can be fully utilized to improve the overall operational efficiency for the company to move toward the ultimate goals of ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) and sustainability.
3drens received guidance and mentorship from Microsoft Startup Accelerator and gained momentum and nutrients for growth a few years ago. With its technological base of robotics and young, innovative team, the company will begin to raise capital and move at full throttle toward driverless logistics opportunities in the era of smart EVs. I think 3drens has ample space for the expansion of technologies and business opportunities. Furthermore, when self-driving technology is in place heralding the advent of the 6G era in ten years, the use of its smart connected technology will become even more practical and sought-after.
